Teaching Thinking for Reading: What Research Says and What Teachers Can Do (Article Linked)

I’m excited to share that my article, “Teaching Thinking for Reading: Merging Executive Function, Structured Literacy, and Asset-Based Practices”, was just published in the Georgia Journal of Literacy.

This practitioner article reflects what we stand for at Literacy for Justice: teaching reading in ways that are explicit, culturally responsive, and rooted in how children actually think and learn.

Research like this directly informs the strategies and resources I share here, because children deserve instruction that honors both their brilliance and their identities.
